Prof. Tanya Narozhna is professor of global politics in the Department of Political Science at the University of Winnipeg. Her key research areas include critical security studies, war studies, gender, and terrorism.

Prof. Narozhna is the lead author (with W. Andy Knight) of Female Suicide Bombings: A Critical Gender Approach, published by the University of Toronto Press. She is the recipient of the Faculty of Arts Achievement in Scholarly or Creative Activity Award (2017) and the Outstanding Scholarship Prize of the Women’s and Gender Studies et Recherches Féministes Association (2018).

Prof. Narozhna’s work has been published in major international and national journals, including International Theory, Journal of International Relations and Development, Australian Journal of International Affairs, and Canadian Foreign Policy. She is currently working on a few research projects, including 1) radicalization toward extremism in Manitoba schools, 2) gender analysis of national security institutions in Canada, 3) war as embodied experience, and 4) ontological security and Russia’s foreign policy.
