The usage of the imperial eagle in Nazi imagery has a long history, as many armies have used the Reichsadler or Parteiadler in their coat of arms, including Germany during WWII. The eagle is commonly used in Nazi imagery when paired with a swastika or Iron Cross, yet there is a particular style to the eagle that signifies it’s connections to Nazism. This eagle in particular is sporting the Iron Cross, an emblem used among the Wehrmacht in WWII. Yet it is important to note that the Iron Cross is still used do denote German armed forces, as the modern Bundeswehr continues to use the Iron Cross today.
