Founded by Jalaluddin Haqqani, an Afghan warlord and mujahideen, this group is primarily based in North Waziristan, Pakistan. They were considered the most dangerous and sophisticated group that targeted Coalition forces during the War in Afghanistan, and are responsible for some of the highest-profile attacks during the war.
